Holding a fundraiser for
fws isn't as hard as you're thinking. We know - because we hold them for ourselves, all the time!
Here are a few of the easiest, fuss-free, results-oriented options available:
sell stuff on fws's ebay site
1. Contact
fws ebay
consultant and outline what it is you wish to sell.
2. Take photos of the items you're selling, email them to
fws ebay consultant with detailed descriptions.
3. Be prepared to work with
fws ebay consultant to get up terrific descriptions and pix detailing your items.
4. Be prepared to meet postage timelines without input from
fws (postage costs will be covered by the purchaser).
5. Purchasers will pay for items by directly depositing the money into
the
fws bank account.
fws will thank you in the next newsletter.

hold a movie night
1. Ring your local movie theatre, tell them
you're fundraising for
fws and ask what discounted ticket rates they
have available for fundraiser events.
2.
Email fws to ask for our fundraising pack (filled with lots of tips, advice and fundraising templates you'll find useful!)
3. Select a suitable movie (perhaps not X-rated), set a date, book it
with the theatre, have an invite designed, send it to all your friends,
ask
fws to
advertise your invite in our
gimme shelter e-newsletter and on our
news & events webpage.
4. Organise your nan to make some arrival cakes for your movie-going
guests. Organise your mates to donate some arrival drinks. Or organise
some snacks with the theatre direct - some theatres will offer you
nibblies and drinks at a special rate.
5. Print out the
fws info pamphlets in the fundraising pack to have them available for guests on the night.
6. Organise a raffle with three prizes (guests love this and it's a great boost to fundraising).
7. Have someone quickly introduce
fws, draw the raffle, start the movie and relax!
8. Deposit the funds raised into the
fws bank account and
email fws accounts
to let us know what you raised so we can thank you in our next
newsletter!
share a pizza for fws at your workplace
1. Find out which day of the week your local pizza joint has $5 pizzas (i.e. cheap Tuesday).
2. On the day, walk around your workplace before lunch with a pen and scrap paper, taking pre-orders from your colleagues for 'a piece of pizza for
fws!' They get their lunch while contributing to
fws at the same time.
3. Charge $2 per slice, which makes $16 per pizza - which means you've raised $11 for
fws. It's that simple. Collect the funds from your hungry workmates.
4. Call the local pizza joint to order as many pizzas as you need, depending on the size of your workplace (or the size of your colleagues' appetites).
5. Pick up the pizzas or even have them delivered.
6. Share the pizzas in the staff lunch room, and everyone's smiling.
7. Deposit the funds raised into the
fws bank account and
email fws accounts
to let us know what you raised so we can thank you and your workplace in our next
newsletter!
8. You could even make it a monthly event...
